Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility

In our pursuit of building A Better Tomorrow™, we aim to drive excellence in our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices, making sustainability a central aspect of our business. Our commitment to reducing the impact of our operations on public health is a primary focus reflected in our Sustainability Agenda.

Building A Better Tomorrow™ also means contributing to the socio-economic development of the communities we operate in. Our Sustainability agenda is closely aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which we actively support through our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes. Our longstanding approach to supporting communities is a testament to our dedication to creating a better future for all.

2023 Corporate Social Responsibilities Initiatives

To support the acceleration of economic growth and address challenges arising after the transition period of the COVID-19, in the year of 2023, the Company's Community Investment (CI) activities were focused on various empowerment initiatives for MSMEs and environmental responsibility actions. This aims to strengthen the local business ecosystem and ensure environmental sustainability for future generations.

Bentoel Bangun Bangsa Festival

In light with the Indonesia’s Independence Day in August 2023, Bentoel Group held the Bentoel Bangun Bangsa Festival 2023 in Malang, East Java.

This event aimed to inspire and educate the public on various environmental and social issues, while showcasing the company’s commitment to sustainability.

The Bentoel Bangun Bangsa Festival not only succeeded in enhancing the company's reputation as a socially responsible organization but also served as a platform to raise public awareness about critical environmental and social issues. This initiative reflects Bentoel Group's commitment to creating a sustainable positive impact on communities and the environment.

Cigarette Butt Waste Management Program

In 2023, Bentoel Group successfully launched an environmental responsibility program known as Bopong. Bopong is a cigarette butt waste collection and education program, resulting from a collaboration between Bentoel Group, a social enterprise based in Bandung and the surrounding communities.Through Bopong, Bentoel Group has collected 1,000 bottles of cigarette butts, equal to 650,000 cigarette butts, and has recorded 1,500 hours of educational and collection activities.

This initiative not only contributes to better environmental management but also reinforces Bentoel Group's commitment to sustainable practices and social responsibility.

Digital Inclusion Program

Continuing its efforts to empower Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) digitally, Bentoel Group launched the Digital Inclusion Program in 2022. This program was carried out following the Bentoel Bangun Bangsa Festival by donating 200 laptops to support the digital empowerment of MSMEs. Through this initiative, Bentoel Group aims to contributein providing better access to technology for small business owners, enabling them to improve operational efficiency and competitiveness in the digital era.

MSMEs Empowerment Program

Realizing the need of MSMEs for decent infrastructure, Bentoel Group distributed 100 units of MSMEs stalls to MSME owners in the Greater Jakarta area and East Java. This donation aims to assist the beneficiaries in starting a business and bringing benefits to their families and communities.This program is a manifestation of the company's commitment to continuously support the government in developing the grassroots economy through empowering SMEs.

Through collaboration with various parties, Bentoel Group believes it can make a meaningful contribution to advancing the Indonesian SME sector.
